Campout in Pyes Pa

Our recent Pyes Pa weekend didn’t disappoint, with a large group staying the weekend at a members private property in suburban Tauranga. Both mornings started with our ‘Steady as you go’ (‘SAYGO’) exercise class, which was a series of gentle stretching and balance exercises, developed for older adults. It was so popular that we held it both mornings.

The life art artists enjoyed the choice of various models and are keen to come again next year. Many took the opportunity to take part and enjoyed the experience of life modelling outside naked, rather than under a spotlight.

Many played Kubb and 3-down. This new game which we learnt to play at our Waikato Outdoor Society weekend late last year, was very popular during this campout.

We all enjoyed trying out the S’mores - the ingredients were brought back from the States by a member (arriving back to managed isolation!). For the uninitiated, S’mores is a soft half melted marshmallow, (heated near a fire), then squashed between two Graham crackers with a piece of Hershey’s chocolate. Biting into this, you get the sweet, sticky, stringy partially melted marshmallow and softened chocolate oozing out from the crackers. YUM!!

Everyone was well-fed due to our great potluck BBQ on Saturday night and BOP Naturists famous cooked breakfast on Sunday morning, consisting of bacon, eggs, hash browns and baked beans, all ably cooked by our naked chefs. Thanks guys. So no-one went home hungry after this weekend of fun and camaraderie.

Once again, my thanks go to the owners of the property for providing us with such a great venue for us to enjoy. We hope to see you again next year!
